As winter approaches the design department at Basements & Beyond is reminded once again that it is time to swap out the shorts, T-shirts and baseball hats for the jackets, boots and scarves. With that being said, the topic of storage comes to mind.

When designing a basement, we can sometimes forget the importance of storage. Theater rooms, wet bars, bedrooms and bathrooms are sometimes over designed, leaving the storage area to a small, unfinished area of the utility room. When designing your space, keep in mind all of the things you will need to store away.

Some things that come to mind right away are the holiday decorations, winter clothes and sporting equipment. Also having finished storage in your living areas can be practical as well.
