Update: Rebuilding Together Metro Denver
On Saturday, October 22nd, 2011 the staff of Basements & Beyond (pictured from left: RTMD CEO Kathryn Arbour and Basements & Beyond co-owner, Tammy Cooper) volunteered their time and material to improve an existing home in Aurora. The goal of the project was to retrofit portions of the floorplan to make it more accessible to the homeowner who is confined to a wheelchair. We worked hard from dawn to dusk and we were able to widen all the doorways, install cabinets, reconfigure the kitchen countertops, replaced the flooring in the master bathroom, painted all interior walls and added baseboard trim throughout.
Along with the time and materials, Basements & Beyond donated $10,000 cash to future projects with RTMD. "In these tough times there are many people in need of assistance. RTMD helps the elderly and disabled who need assistance in making their homes more livable and we value their partnership." Wes & Tammy Cooper.
