Capital Hill Carriage House

This carriage house was originally constructed in 1889 with storage on the main level and a hay loft above.  The architectural details of the original wood beams were maintained and the trusses used to support the rest of the roof were wrapped in a similar material to complement the original beams.  The open vaulted ceiling makes this 480 sf apartment feel open and airy, and the addition of skylights keeps the entire space bright.  This carriage house rental unit now boasts a bedroom with a closet, 3/4 bath with a large shower and bench, a living room large enough for a sectional and a full kitchen.  There’s even a washer/dryer in the space!  Overall, this carriage house has a plethora of features packed into a clean, beautiful, functional space.

Chuck and the crew know what they’re doing and are very good at managing subs. our ADU/carriage house was an interesting project and the results were amazing.
